Well, I was glad to let her have them, and she was right, too ...probably my best refinishing job so far. Anyway, since I'm recovering from tonsil surgery this week (not as bad as I'd heard it would be, but still enough to keep me out of the shop) I figured I'd showcase something from the past...
I don't have before pics.. but they looked pretty drab in their old walnut finishes. I sanded them down and then painted the top a light blue color before deciding that they would look better in light tan.. 3 hours a couple of sponges and two worn out arms later (needed to keep the walnut as a base coat), I was back to the original walnut. The next day I dry brushed on the current finish, topped it with a tobacco stain, and settled on a brilliant idea to modge podge decorative paper on to the drawer fronts.. and I'd have to say it came out better than I'd ever expected! All that was left was to come up w some fancy knobs and for my wife to decide we should keep them (: Good decision :)
If you're interested, I'd be glad to refinish your personal furniture.. just message me so we can set up a consultation.
You can see more of my recent projects at Encore Resales in Pelham (I'm Vendor 1162, farthest back left corner in the shop, though the inventory is a little low due to some recent sales & my tonsil surgery.. I'll resupply soon enough)
and online at Etsy.com/shop/RestorationAntiques
Here are the rest of the pics of the tables...
